Is that really true?
Hmm.
Could be.
Art is all show, right, full of its own shit, with the highest bullshit tolerance of any particular realm of knowledge. Writing, with the possible exception of bad writing (no way to tell anymore whats good art and bad art, more bullshit), is about trying to manage bullshit.
Or maybe its the other way around.
Yeah!
Art is somehow more meaningful than writing. Writing is all show. Besides everyone knows how much cooler it is to talk with an artist than to a writer. No one wants to talk to a writer. Writers have way too much to say. Artists have too much to say too, they are just incapable...of....using....words...and mumble and fidget, like method actors, which is really cool and mysterious.
Artists, like ROCKSTARS, have it all figured out too. No more of this trying to make sense of the world, get a bunch of rediculous jobs and it will all sort itself out crap. Artists just sit. They sit around and make shit. Writers make shit up. Writers and artists should make shit making shit up together, too, but that might actually be more like theater, and we know what a bunch of shits theater people are.
